If you aren’t registered – you can’t vote.
Here are the qualifications:
- you must be at least 18 years old;
- are a citizen of the United States;
- and are cleared of any felony convictions.
Much of the process can be carried out online. Here is some key information you can get online.
- Check Your Registration: Every election, there are disappointed voters who are turned away or have to deal with the hassle of casting a provisional ballot; because the Board of Elections had the wrong information. You can check your registration by going to the North Carolina State Board of Elections Voter Lookup. You can see your sample ballot, voting location, and history from this link.
- Register to Vote/Change Registration (Cabarrus County Residents) – Download this form and type in all of the fields. Print and send to the Cabarrus County Board of Elections (53 Corban Ave SE, Concord, NC 28025). It is suggested that you check your registration 10 days after sending in the form. October 8, 2010 is the deadline to register or change address for the 2010 General Election.
- Register to Vote/Request Absentee (Active Duty Military/Overseas Voters) – The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) provides the procedure for US Citizens living abroad or serving in the military to register and vote absentee. Please take a moment and share this information with your friends and family that will be out of the country on Election Day.
